The summer has come to an end and it is time to get back into the swing of things. For the Gift family that has included having our youngest go through Surgery to fix a problem that has been evident since he was 1 month of age, he is now 3. Pastor Kevin has once again begun another degree, pray for him as he continues towards a Th. M from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.
Seasons of change are not only for us as people. The church also go through seasons of change. The church however has a problem, on occasion, accepting change. Free Union has been in a season of decline for the past several years. This has led to a decision that was difficult, but one that we hope will be a sign to churches in similar situation as us throughout the United States. We have decided that we want to leave a LEGACY! That’s right a legacy for future generations. We had to make a difficult decision between remaining comfortable and stepping out in faith. In the end we decided to step out in faith, and the result? We have decided to support a church plant in the neighboring community of Crozet, VA.
Free Union Baptist will continue to serve as a blessing to the community we are in. Our desire is to have the greatest impact for the kingdom of God as possible. May God be glorified through us.
